From Lublin to Bełżec. Traces of Jewish presence and their annihilation in the south-eastern part of the Lubelski Region is a story of Lublin’s stethls, which until 1939 saw the rich religious, economic and cultural life of the Jewish community, and which became the place of torment and suffering during the 2nd World War. It includes information on such places as Lublin, Pisaki, Izbica and many others. The text was written by Robert Kawałek, director of the Museum – Memorial Site in Bełżec.
The guidebook includes extensive iconographic material portraying the life of former Polish-Jewish towns in the Lubelski Region, as well as photographs of the present condition of the monuments of Jewish culture in the locations. In many cases they are unique structures, miraculously saved from wartime destruction. This release is a tourist guidebook addressed to all those willing to visit the presented places. It is a fascinating read for everyone who wishes to learn more about the history of Polish Jews.

The Lublin School of Wisdom (Yeshiva Chachmej Lublin) contains concise information about the origin, character and history of this unique religious school, which was set up in Lublin in 1930. The publication also presents the story of the Jeshiva’s founder, rabbi Meir Szapiro. The included pre-war photographs add to the book’s attractiveness, presenting the placing of the cornerstone, the school’s opening ceremony, school interiors, rabbi Szapiro’s funeral.

The guidebook of the monuments of Jewish culture in Lublin is a suggestion of a one-day trip to the places connected with the history of Lublin’s Jews. It includes rich iconographical material derived from the resources of Lublin museums and private collectors. Notably, it includes unique aerial photographs portraying the former Jewish district at the base of the Lublin Castle. The guidebook constitutes a sentimental journey in time to the period when Lublin was a city ripe with religious, cultural, political and economic life of the Jewish community.
